![]() I tapped the DVD eject, the CD eject and got no response. Then i started pressing the LOAD/Close button until the screen changes to show the CD and DVD eject screen pops up. ![]() Today i went out and used the "AUX" startup (no foot on the brake, just touch the start button). First off, i shut off the car and waited till the next day as all of the jcasemore steps did not work for me right after putting the DVD into the slot. i had a slightly different set of steps but i had success. I tried the Load/Close button and had no response. Once i hit LOAD, the Screen door closed and the screen read DVD Navigation updating, with a lot of spin and whirring sounds. We have the JBL Nav system where the screen flips down to provide access to the DVD/CD slots. We have a 2009 Highlander Hybrid and i put in the wrong NAV DVD disc (not for this car). Slot will accept CD but same chatter, eject. Have put double sticky electrical tape on a hacksaw blade and can easily remove the Nav CD. Can not get display to show disc status and Nav CD status and now the (^*&^*&0 Radio does not operate to stop the CD from spinning. The door opens and closes, the load button works, but the Nav CD will not load. Have done multiple fix attemps-several battery disconnect, Radio fuse pull Beat it will an ax handle, etc. Tried to reset radio with fuse pull and restart-no go Since disconnecting the battery for 30 min-no display, and no radio. We i first started to debug this, the display panel on the touchscreen activated, although we could not get any of the functions to work. But when we stopped-we could not eject the book tapes.(the next day we found the Nav CD sticking out its hole about 1-2 inches. We continued listening to the book on take to completion. On a trip, wife accidentally ejected Nav CD. We have a 2008 Highlander-not one single problem until yesterday. So years later, is every thing still working? i think the dealer is trying to pull a fast one to make a few extra bucks. nowhere does it state that i cannot insert a non-toyota disc. dealer said that they will send unit to the manufacturer and if the find a non-toyota dvd in the unit, i will have to pay about $3000 because the warranty has been voided.i looked and read the nav manual cover to cover including the eula. ![]() dealer says he cannot access radio/nav software with the computer that they plug in to the obd2 connector. pressing the load button does not open the nav door to load a new dvd, removing the fuse and disconnecting the battery DID NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM. Just experienced the same ssage says no dvd found. I put the hybrid disk that worked for the past 2 years in my 2007 camry hybrid. If anyone knows a place to get a good deal on this disc, I'm all ears.Just purchased a 2009 HiHY with NAV. Of course, if you are a couple years behind (like me), there are many other changes from other versions in between as well. I also just found the release notes (moments ago!) for 13.1, if you want to know some details on what has changed in the most recent update. It has worked quite well to mitigate the outrageous prices the dealer charges, though I am currently on the hunt for a 13.1 disc, since I am several years behind now, at 9.1. I have updated the disc in my 2006 a few times since I bought it, each time buying off eBay then selling my old disc to offset the cost. The tell-tale sign in the auction (aside from the < $100 price tag), is usually that the compatible vehicle list does NOT include the Prius. Beware that many online sellers pass off extremely good-looking fakes for originals, which work in pretty much any other Toyota or Lexus, except the Prius. Also please note that the Prius nav is notorious for only accepting genuine DVDs (so don't even waste your time or money trying to pirate a disc or buying a 'copy'). It is very important that it is the correct generation, or the system will not accept it (other generations will have a slightly different number than above). If I have not mistaken, the markings on the disc should be as follows 86271-53028 464210-2280 DATA ver 13.1 Version 13.1 is apparently just released, I just saw an auction on eBay for a disc which seems genuine (selling for $140), not sure if I am allowed to post a link in this forum?Īnyway, to the OP, the 2006-2009 Prius the "5th Generation".
